505 Games today announces that the acclaimed open-world zombie survival sandbox game UNTURNED will receive the new amazing ELVER DLC in September 2021, on Xbox One and PS4.
The Elver DLC includes a new map inspired by a variety of different countries in Eastern Europe, providing not just a new fictional setting, but also by changing the way the game is played. Players will have to scavenge for resources across the new map to construct equipment such as horde beacons and gasmasks, allowing them to obtain high tier gear beyond looting a military base.
The map layout has separate areas dedicated for base building within a dense forest surrounding the only lootable location on the map; the city. Zombies remain a constant threat across the metropolis, and spell doom for the reckless survivor . Players must keep an eye out for any TVs with static, which mark the presence of hidden ranger crates containing unique weapons and items.
This new DLC, launching in September of this year, showcases the ongoing support and commitment offered to console players, who will see an increased frequency of patches and further new DLCs coming in the next few months.
Gamers who are looking to try the game will be happy to know that UNTURNED is part of Xbox’ Free Play Days line up which launched August 5th. Players who fancy their chances of surviving the zombie apocalypse can download and play the game for free with their friends until August 8th.

UNTURNED is an open-world survival sandbox game where players assume the role of a survivor, dropped into the zombie-infested ruins of modern-day society, and must work with friends and forge alliances to remain among the living. Players must search out supplies such as clothes, food and weapons, as well as scavenge for resources like wood and metal to create strongholds and defences to fend off the zombie horde. Survivors must also keep an eye on their health by finding food and water as well as checking on radiation levels. Getting hit by a zombie or entering ‘deadzones’ without the proper hazmat protection will have an impact on their health. As they progress through the game, players can earn experience points that can be used to upgrade their character, improving their chance of survival!
