Indie developer DESTINYbit and publisher Pretty Soon have announced that Finals Week, a chaotic co-op cheating simulator set in a dysfunctional 1990s school, will launch on Steam on 29th October 2026. Designed around multiplayer physics and proximity chat, the game challenges groups of friends to pass a series of increasingly difficult exams by doing virtually anything except studying.

Set during the final week of school, players must work together using a shared-fate mechanism where the entire squad either passes or fails together. To survive the watchful eye of patrolling professors—who are armed with a knack for throwing erasers with deadly accuracy—players must employ an array of questionable tactics and improvised cheating tools.

The game's arsenal includes cellphones, walkie-talkies, binoculars, hidden textbooks, paper balls, and even pens that double as tranquilizer blowguns. Players can also navigate secret classroom passages, trigger environmental distractions, or write notes on desks, walls, and fellow classmates. Getting caught by the teacher results in increasingly ridiculous physical restraints meant to hamper cheating attempts without making them entirely impossible.

Between exam sessions, squads can explore the school hall, play basketball, plan future strategies, and customize their characters with unlocked outfits, hairstyles, and color schemes.

DESTINYbit, the Ravenna-based studio behind Empires Apart and Dice Legacy, developed the game with a focus on producing emergent, player-driven stories. The title is published by Polish indie games label Pretty Soon, whose portfolio includes Backpack Hero and Havendock. Finals Week will be available globally for PC via Steam starting 29th October 2026.
