Publisher PQube and BAFTA award-winning developer Sumo Digital have announced that their retro-futuristic 1970s stealth adventure Spyder: Agent 8 will launch on 11th February 2027.

The game will be available digitally on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and the newly announced Nintendo Switch 2, alongside a physical release for PlayStation 5. A brand-new trailer accompanied the release date announcement.

Developed by the team behind LittleBigPlanet 3 and Sackboy: A Big Adventure, Spyder: Agent 8 puts players in control of the world's smallest superspy. Created by the Secret Agent Facilitation Enterprise (S.A.F.E.), Agent 8 is a tiny robotic spider tasked with thwarting the evil Syndicate of International Nasties (S.I.N.) to save the world.

Equipped with sticky sucker feet, Agent 8 can crawl across walls, ceilings, and floors in fully 360-degree fashion. Players navigate oversized environments from a unique micro-perspective, taking on globe-spanning missions that range from rescuing stranded astronauts to sabotaging submarines and stopping speeding trains.

To outsmart security systems and solve intricate environmental puzzles, Agent 8 comes equipped with a suite of high-tech gadgets, including a cutting torch to slice through panels and a web grapple to swing across gaps. In addition to the main story campaign, players can unlock bite-sized three-minute "Micro-Missions" designed to test their stealth skills.

A playable demo featuring updates based on player feedback is available now on Steam.
