Saber Interactive has unleashed the brand-new "Waves of Lead" update for World War Z, bringing a chilling wave of fresh content just in time for the spooky season. Available completely free across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms, this latest patch injects a massive dose of adrenaline into the ultimate co-op zombie shooter with new weapons, mutators, challenges, and heavy weapon perks.
Among the headline additions are the double-barreled Bullpup Shotgun and the Gas Pipe Wrench melee weapon, giving survivors fresh tools to carve through the endless hordes. The update also expands the brutal Extinction Mode to the popular World War Z x The Walking Dead crossover DLC. Owners of the expansion can now put their survival instincts to the ultimate test against the franchise's iconic slow-moving walkers across atmospheric locations like the Prison, Alexandria Safe Zone, and Grady Memorial Hospital.
Combat depth is further enhanced by six new heavy weapon perks, such as White Phosphorus rounds for the MRL202 Commando rocket launcher and Dragon Breath Shells for the Taiga-12. Meanwhile, five new mutators—including Paranoid’s Reserves, which introduces booby-trapped equipment crates, and All-In, where health for all players and zombies drops to one—offer players entirely fresh ways to tackle the undead menace. Alongside the free update, players can also pick up the optional "Valhalla Raider" Weapon Skin Pack for $4.99 to give their loadouts a rugged, runic steel aesthetic.
Powered by Saber’s dynamic Swarm Engine, World War Z continues to deliver unmatched cooperative carnage. Whether diving in solo with AI companions or teaming up with friends across platforms, fans have more reasons than ever to lock, load, and take back the apocalypse.
