HypeTrain Digital, Sleepy Castle Studio, and Wing-It! Creative have announced a limited physical release for their RPG Escape from Ever After on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5, created in partnership with Super Rare Games.
The physical release will be available from Thursday, 10 September 2026, at 6 PM BST. The run is strictly limited to 4,000 standard copies for Nintendo Switch and 2,000 standard copies for PlayStation 5.
Inspired by classic RPGs such as Paper Mario, Escape from Ever After places players in a satirical storybook universe where fairytale heroes must unite against corporate greed. Players take on the role of storybook characters navigating corporate culture inside Ever After Inc., engaging in turn-based combat, decorating office spaces, and climbing the corporate ladder to dismantle the company from within.
Since its digital debut earlier this year, the title has earned strong reception from both critics and players, holding an 82 Metacritic score and a 96% positive rating on Steam.
The game features a turn-based battle system that rewards strategic party customization and skill upgrades. Alongside exploration across storybook worlds filled with sidequests and secrets, the gameplay is accompanied by a big-band jazz soundtrack.
To mark the physical launch, the development team at Sleepy Castle Studio will host an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on Reddit's r/NintendoSwitch sub-forum on Friday, 11 September 2026, starting at 12 PM ET (5 PM BST). The session will allow fans to submit questions directly to the developers regarding the game's design, narrative inspiration, and production process.
Pre-orders for both physical editions will open exclusively via the Super Rare Games online store page on 10 September 2026.
