Publisher Microids has announced Garfield – Escape from Monday, a brand-new 3D platforming adventure developed by OSome Studio. Capturing the timeless spirit and iconic "cattitude" of Jim Davis’s beloved comic franchise, the colorful interactive experience is set to launch on September 24, 2026, across Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

The narrative kicks off when Garfield’s owner, Jon, unwittingly feeds the famous feline a spinach lasagna inspired by a recipe from the villainous Chef Monday. Spiraling into a deep sleep, the world’s laziest cat awakens inside a bizarre nightmare populated by vegetables, sugar-free candies, and other unimaginable horrors. To wake up and restore his taste buds, Garfield must embark on a deliciously chaotic journey across three distinct dream worlds and over 40 levels packed with hostile forces.

To navigate this subconscious reality, players will need to master traditional feline movements, allowing Garfield to jump, climb walls, curl up into a ball, and always land on his feet. The gameplay breaks the mold by introducing an exclusive costume mechanic. Garfield can don three specialized outfits, each granting unique traversal and combat skills: players can go airborne dressed as a turkey, slide across water like a surfer, or swing across gaps using a cowboy lasso.

Thankfully, Garfield isn't completely alone in his subconscious battle. He can rely on the support of Jon, Odie, Arlene, and his beloved teddy bear, Pookie, to overcome the platforming challenges and formidable boss encounters lurking within his sleep. However, players must remain vigilant against classic franchise archenemies, including Nermal and Squeak.

In addition to fighting enemy swarms, players are tasked with gathering thousands of delicious collectibles. The more lasagna Garfield devours, the higher his morale remains, unlocking the ability to edit rooms and refurbish Jon’s house with surprising items. Combining universal humor with OSome Studio’s action-platforming expertise, the title promises a thrilling ride for nostalgic fans and gaming enthusiasts alike when it releases this September.
