Barcelona-based video game publisher Jandusoft has officially announced the upcoming release of Turnip Mountain, a quirky new physics-based climbing adventure created by solo developer Luke Sanderson. The highly frantic title is scheduled to launch across all major gaming platforms on July 30, 2026. Ahead of the official mid-summer release, a playable gameplay demo has been made available for PC users via Steam.

The core gameplay of Turnip Mountain centers around a unique and highly unconventional control system where each hand of the main character—an adventurous, sentient turnip—is operated independently. To navigate the treacherous, vertical landscapes, players must master distinct mechanics to swing, grab, and launch themselves toward each rocky summit. The title offers flexible, specialized control configurations to accommodate various playstyles, allowing users to climb using either a standard gamepad with dual analog sticks or an innovative setup utilizing two computer mice simultaneously.

In addition to the challenging single-player campaign, the game features a chaotic local cooperative mode. In co-op play, two players must share the climbing burden by taking control of exactly one arm each. Success relies entirely on real-time communication and physical synchronization as the duo attempts to coordinate momentum, whether they choose to play using two separate controllers, two mice, or a mixed combination of inputs.

The developers have packed each vertical level with distinct obstacles and environmental hazards, revealing that the versatile little turnip can even swim through aquatic sections to progress. As players successfully ascend the mountain, they can discover hidden secrets and unlock more than 25 distinct retro color palettes to completely customize the visual aesthetic of the game. Representatives from Jandusoft expressed immense excitement for the physics-based title, promising that the cooperative mechanics guarantee an absolute level of entertainment for casual and competitive players alike.
