Independent development studio Unclear Games has released major new details for its upcoming survival horror title, The Florist. Alongside the official confirmation that the game is headed to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, the studio debuted the world premiere of its "Gardens of Death" gameplay trailer, offering a first look at the game's terrifying enemies, environmental levels, and defensive weaponry.

The narrative centers on Jessica Park, who arrives in the seemingly quiet lakeside town of Joycliffe to complete a routine, last-minute delivery. Her arrival coincides with a catastrophic outbreak as the town is rapidly consumed by a deadly, hyper-aggressive floral overgrowth. To survive the night, players must guide Jessica through intricate environmental puzzles, fend off horrifying creatures, and unravel a sinister, hidden conspiracy aimed at engineered life in an incredibly inhuman fashion.

The newly released gameplay footage highlights the desperate combat mechanics players will encounter. Jessica is shown engaging in tense, close-quarters battles against "Seeds"—the tragic human victims of the floral affliction whose reanimated bodies are controlled by parasitic organic growth. These enemies instinctively hunt down living organisms to harvest nutrients. To defend herself, Jessica can utilize a traditional arsenal including the Catclaw Revolver and the Rosetta Shotgun. However, the studio hints that standard firearms will provide limited defense against advanced threats, teasing the inclusion of specialized tools designed for the rapid destruction of the most hazardous flora.

Adding to the tension is a hulking antagonist known as The Harvester. This relentless figure stalks the streets of Joycliffe carrying a bloodstained sack, completely driven by a mysterious, long-term objective. Players will need to stay one step ahead of this towering threat to halt his dark mission, even though developers warn he is far from the most dangerous entity lurking in the overgrowth.

The Wellington, New Zealand-based studio has launched digital storefront pages on both Steam and the PlayStation Store. Final release information and launch dates are scheduled to be revealed later this year.
