Independent development studio Ent-Re Games has officially launched Bug Alliance, a high-octane top-down action roguelite, arriving today on Steam in Early Access. For players eager to test their skills before jumping into the full experience, a downloadable demo version of the game is also currently available on the platform.

The narrative is set in the wake of a global catastrophe caused by humanity's reckless manipulation of nature, leaving the planet fractured and crawling with aggressive, mutated swarms. Players must battle through escalating waves of enemies, uncovering a deeply layered story through progression and gameplay mastery as they navigate a post-human world where nature has fought back.

The core gameplay centers on intense 20-wave survival maps that culminate in challenging boss fights. True mastery relies on a deep buildcraft system, where every level-up presents meaningful strategic decisions. Players can customize their combat approach through combinations of upgrades, Synergies, Tactical Gear, and Glyphs. The game supports a wide variety of playstyles, ranging from raw damage and crowd control to defensive or hybrid setups.

At the start of Early Access, the game features a fully playable experience including Onslaught mode, the first four chapters of the story campaign, and deep progression systems. The development team expects the game to remain in Early Access for six to twelve months, targeting a full 1.0 release for mid-to-late 2027. Future updates will introduce a Resistance mode, expand the story to 13 chapters, and bring in new characters and maps.

The title boasts a roster of unique bug characters, more than 300 unlockable skins, and persistent progression elements like global rankings and cosmetic rewards. Earning Gold medals progressively unlocks additional content, including upgrade points and permanent character unlocks. To assist newcomers, a new interactive Academy Mode has been integrated, featuring short lessons guided by a character named El Capitán to help players quickly grasp the game's core controls and mechanical systems.
