The "sandseas" are calling. Developers Chashu Entertainment and publisher indie.io have officially announced that their unique, open-world Soulslike, Sands of Aura, will make its long-awaited debut on Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 on February 26, 2026.
A World Buried in Desolation
Set in the haunting, apocalyptic realm of Talamhel, the game transports players to a world where the surface has been swallowed by endless sands. Following an ancient war of total devastation, only the highest mountaintops remain as habitable islands. Humanity’s last survivors are under constant siege from the elements and the undead hordes of those who perished in the Great Collapse.
Players step into the boots of a newly inducted member of the Order of the Remnant Knights. As the final line of defense for a dying world, you must take the oath, board your nimble grainwake—a specialized sand-sailing vessel—and navigate the dunes to confront a terrifying new threat that promises to extinguish the last embers of mankind.
Mastery of the Sands
Sands of Aura distinguishes itself through deep customization and a challenging, skill-based combat system. The game features:
Seven Distinct Fighting Styles: Master varied martial arts to suit your playstyle.
Extensive Crafting: Combine thousands of potential weapon combinations with dozens of armor sets and magical augmentations.
Open Exploration: Navigate the sandseas freely, discovering buried secrets and forgotten truths that may hold the key to restoring the world.
The heart of the journey is Starspire, a sanctuary where players can exercise leadership by building a community, unlocking unique perks, and deepening their understanding of the lore.
Tailored for Console
The upcoming release isn't just a port; it’s a refined experience. It includes all previous updates from the original PC release along with console-specific improvements, such as a purpose-built targeting assist system, a reworked island exploration interface, and balanced combat and economy tweaks.
