Bungie, the legendary studio behind Halo and Destiny, has officially confirmed that its highly anticipated survival extraction FPS, Marathon, will launch on 5 March 2026. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, featuring full cross-play and cross-save functionality from day one.
Set on the lost colony of Tau Ceti IV, Marathon casts players as bio-cybernetic "Runners." These mercenaries must navigate a brutal landscape, scavenging for riches while contending with hostile security forces, rival players, and an increasingly inhospitable environment.
A Star-Studded Vocal Ensemble
To bring the world of Tau Ceti IV to life, Bungie has assembled an elite English-language voice cast. The roster features a "who’s who" of gaming talent, including Roger Clark (Red Dead Redemption II), Neil Newbon and Jennifer English (Baldur’s Gate 3), Ben Starr (Final Fantasy XVI), and industry veterans like Fred Tatasciore and Elias Toufexis. Bungie has noted that the cast will expand as the game’s narrative evolves through seasonal updates.
Pre-Orders and Destiny 2 Crossovers
Pre-orders are live now, offering immediate rewards for Bungie’s dedicated community. Players who secure the game early will receive the "ZERO STEP" tactical gear set, including a sidearm style and weapon cosmetics.
In a nod to their current flagship, Bungie is also offering Destiny 2 players exclusive themed rewards, including a UESC Echo-type Exotic Ghost Shell, Ship, and Sparrow, which can be claimed via linked Bungie.net accounts.
