In a far-future vision where humanity has exhausted its second chances, Earth’s final frontier is calling. PARCO GAMES and developer RexLabo have officially announced that the atmospheric sci-fi survival adventure Nova Antarctica will launch globally on January 29, 2026, for PC via Steam.
A World Shaped by Echoes
Set in the year 2900, the game depicts a ravaged Earth struggling with extreme weather, resource depletion, and conflict. Amidst this desolation, a mysterious signal emanates from the South Pole, drawing a lone child into the heart of the frozen continent. This is not the Antarctica we know today; it is a landscape reshaped by climate collapse and reclaimed by strange, new ecosystems that hold the memories of human history.
Survival and Connection
Nova Antarctica blends traditional survival mechanics—such as crafting and managing harsh conditions—with a deeply meditative narrative. Players must use salvaged technology and their own intuition to navigate the ice, but they are not entirely alone. The game features a unique system allowing players to befriend wildlife companions, offering a sense of connection in an otherwise unforgiving world.
“This game began as a question: what happens to humanity when the world goes quiet?” says m.Hayashi, Game Director at RexLabo. He notes that the project invites players to discover stories that feel "personal, fragile, and unforgettable."
A Cultural Milestone for PARCO GAMES
The title marks a significant debut for PARCO GAMES, a new division of the historic Japanese cultural brand PARCO. Known since 1969 as a catalyst for fashion and art, PARCO is now extending its legacy into interactive entertainment. Nova Antarctica launches alongside other compelling titles like Constance and The Berlin Apartment, signaling the company's commitment to games that prioritize artistry and innovation.
To celebrate the launch, the game will be showcased at the Taipei Game Show starting January 29, allowing attendees to experience the hauntingly beautiful landscape firsthand.
Nova Antarctica will be available on Steam for £20.99 ($24.99).
