The PUBG universe is expanding in a bold new direction. KRAFTON, Inc. has officially announced that PUBG: BLINDSPOT, a highly anticipated tactical shooter developed by PUBG STUDIOS, will arrive in Early Access on February 5, 2026. Launching at 5:00 AM GMT via Steam, the title will adopt a free-to-play model designed to foster an open, community-driven development process.
A New Perspective on Tactical Combat
Unlike the franchise’s traditional battle royale roots, PUBG: BLINDSPOT is a 5v5 team-based top-down tactical shooter. While the camera angle may have shifted, the core DNA of the series remains intact. The game aims to deliver the same level of realism, intense gunplay, and high-stakes firefights usually reserved for first-person shooters, but with the added strategic depth that a top-down view provides.
Refined for the Front Lines
The move to Early Access follows a successful demo period, with PUBG STUDIOS using that feedback to overhaul the experience. Players entering the February build will notice significant upgrades, including:
Visual & UI Enhancements: A more polished aesthetic and a streamlined interface for better battlefield clarity.
Precision Controls: Refined responsiveness to ensure that every tactical movement and shot feels fluid and intentional.
Balanced Depth: Updated gameplay tuning to emphasize teamwork and strategic positioning.
Built with the Community
For Production Director Seungmyeong Yang, the Early Access phase is more than just a soft launch—it is a partnership. "Early Access will allow players to directly participate in the development process," Yang stated, emphasizing that the team plans to deliver monthly updates fueled by player feedback gathered through the game’s official Discord.
By making the game free-to-play from the start, KRAFTON aims to lower the barrier to entry, ensuring a robust player base to help "complete PUBG: BLINDSPOT together."
Hunters and tacticians can add the game to their Steam Wishlist now to stay updated on the latest milestones ahead of the February 5 launch.
