The psychedelic first-person horror game SLEEP AWAKE officially launches for PC (via Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. If you’ve been waiting for a new narrative-heavy horror experience to close out the year, you’re finally in luck.

SLEEP AWAKE is a psychedelic, narrative-driven horror game that places you directly between consciousness and oblivion. You play as Katja, a survivor trapped in the last known city on Earth—one where sleep has become a deadly act. A mysterious phenomenon called The HUSH causes anyone who closes their eyes to vanish without a trace, pushing citizens into madness, insomnia, and dangerous experiments.

As per the reports by Engadget, SLEEP AWAKE focuses heavily on “ultra-immersive, audio-driven horror,” which the developers have been shaping since 2021.

Katja’s journey forces you to navigate death cults, deranged survivors, and bizarre dream-like obstacles while constantly fighting to remain awake. The game blends puzzle-solving, survival sequences, stealth, and frantic chase moments—all wrapped in a psychedelic visual style that shifts between physical reality and symbolic nightmares.

One of the biggest draws is the talent behind the project. The studio is led by Cory Davis, best known for Spec Ops: The Line, and Robin Finck, guitarist for Nine Inch Nails. Finck focused heavily on the soundscape of the game, describing how silence, distortion, and audio illusions would play major roles in building tension.

Only one edition—the Standard Edition— priced at $26.99. The free demo is available.

Blumhouse Games has been steadily growing its horror catalog. After releasing Fear the Spotlight in 2024 and supporting titles like Eyes of Hellfire, Grave Seasons, and Crisol: Theater of Idols, SLEEP AWAKE seems positioned as one of its most ambitious projects yet.
