PQube and Dual Effect have announced that the retro-inspired survival horror sequel, Tormented Souls 2, will launch on October 23, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The announcement was celebrated with a new gameplay trailer showcased at the Future Games Show at Gamescom 2025.

The new trailer, titled "A New Nightmare," provides a terrifying glimpse into the game's plot and reveals details about some of the monstrous bosses players will face. Picking up after the events of the first game, Tormented Souls 2 sees protagonist Caroline Walker desperately trying to save her sister Anna from a mysterious affliction. This quest leads her to a remote clinic in the secluded town of Villa Hess, where she is once again thrust into a supernatural nightmare.

Players will need to harness Caroline's powers to navigate the twisted realities of Villa Hess. By utilizing mirrors and video tapes, they can travel to the town's mysterious 'Other side', a hellish alternate dimension where the most dangerous creatures reside. The trailer introduces two of these formidable horrors: the Iron Maiden, a hulking disciplinarian, and The Harvester, a terrifying fusion of metal and flesh armed with a lethal buzzsaw.

The game promises to stay true to the classic survival horror genre, featuring fixed camera angles, intricate puzzles, and a limited save system. However, it also includes an "assisted mode" for a more casual experience. Players will need to scavenge for makeshift weapons and use their wits to survive the nightmarish encounters and unravel the town's dark secrets.
