The highly anticipated digital release of the cult-classic RPG 'OFF' is just around the corner! Fangamer and creator Mortis Ghost proudly announced today that the acclaimed title will launch digitally on Nintendo Switch and Steam on August 15th, 2025. Physical versions for the Nintendo Switch are slated for Q4. This exciting release date was revealed during the Day of the Devs Summer Game Fest edition.
For those eager to get a head start, the 'OFF Prologue' demo is now available on Steam. This newly released demo puts players in control of the Batter at the very beginning of the game, offering up to an hour of nostalgic RPG gameplay. Crucially, any progress made in the demo will carry over to the full game. The prologue culminates in a showdown with Dedan, the game's first boss and a fan-favorite character.
OFF has already generated significant buzz, accumulating well over 100,000 Steam Wishlists and receiving "Very Positive" reviews for its prologue demo. The game is also a featured participant in Steam Next Fest, running from June 9-16th.
Further amplifying its presence, OFF is sponsoring this year's RPG Direct, an online showcase dedicated to indie RPGs, which will be broadcast on June 8th at 8 PM BST.
Players will take on the role of the enigmatic Batter, guided by a cryptic cat named The Judge, as they seek to "purify" an uncanny and hopeless world. The game tasks players with navigating increasingly confused zones, including a farm extracting metal from cattle and an amusement park haunted by fear, all while grappling with The Batter's true mission. This definitive version of OFF promises an all-new battle system and new areas and bosses designed by Mortis Ghost, ensuring a fresh experience even for long-time fans.
