UFL, the new free-to-play football video game which has Cristiano Ronaldo as an ambassador and a key investor, will host its second Open Beta testing weekend between August 2-4, with the game available for preload from the July 30 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The global release of UFL is set to be announced later this year.
The Beta testing follows the successful first testing weekend in June. Over that weekend, more than 1.3 million installations were recorded, and 5.5 million matches were played in over 100 countries across the globe, including in the UK, Brazil, Germany, USA, France, Italy, and Saudi Arabia.
Commenting on the Open Beta weekend, Eugene Nashilov, CEO of Strikerz Inc., said: "We’re delighted with the enthusiastic response to our first Open Beta. Now, we are excited to launch another one to solidify the foundation for UFL release operations and ensure future success. It's gratifying to realise that we're on the same wavelength as our community. We can’t wait to showcase how far we’ve come since the first Beta with this new version of the game as we near closer to the launch.’’
The majority of the issues highlighted by players in their feedback after the first Open Beta test have been addressed in the game.
Responding to feedback gained from players, UFL will be introducing new features in the second Beta version. The game has brand new meta mechanics, gameplay and animation features to enhance user experience, including a revamped club reputation system, perk system and card skin system.
Emphasising its skill-first approach, the only way players can develop through game play is through their individually gaming ability.
During the upcoming Open Beta weekend, players will have the opportunity to engage in the main online mode, where they can compete with fellow gamers worldwide. Players can also enjoy the offline local match mode, enabling friendly competition with friends on a single game console.
Gamers who participated in the first Open Beta will be able to continue playing with their clubs. If certain assets are removed from their balance, appropriate compensation will be implemented.
The game will support cross-play between PlayStation and Xbox during the second Open Beta test weekend and continuing after the official launch.
Built on the Unreal Engine 5, UFL's second Open Beta test will be exclusively available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox X/S platforms with gamers able to sign up for the preload through the PlayStation Store and Xbox Microsoft Store from 12 pm UTC today (30 July).
