Roger Michell’s THE DUKE, starring BAFTA and Oscar winning British icons Jim Broadbent (Iris) and Helen Mirren (The Queen) arrives for Digital Download from 30th May and Blu-Ray, DVD and Video on Demand from 13th June.

THE DUKE is the final feature film from late director, Roger Michell (Notting Hill) which was selected for the Telluride Film Festival in 2021 following its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in 2020 where it received critical acclaim and has gone on to surpass £5m at the UK Box Office.
The supporting cast includes Fionn Whitehead (Dunkirk), Matthew Goode (The King’s Man) and Anna Maxwell Martin (Poppy Shakespeare).

THE DUKE is a funny and moving true story that celebrates a man who was determined to change the world and save his marriage. In 1961, Kempton Bunton, a 60-year-old taxi driver, stole Goya’s portrait of the Duke of Wellington from the National Gallery. It was the first and only theft in the Gallery’s history. Kempton sent ransom notes promising to return the painting if the government invested more in care for the elderly. What happened next is the stuff of legend…

The film is written by Richard Bean & Clive Coleman and produced by Nicky Bentham. The Executive Producers are Cameron McCracken and Jenny Borgars for Pathé, Andrea Scarso for Ingenious Media, Hugo Heppell for Screen Yorkshire, Peter Scarf and Christopher Bunton.
