Well, well, well. Last Friday I received a mysterious package from Techland in Poland, with some very undead vibes to it. Very kindly Techland had sent me a care package, with a nice poster, a UV torch and a message that the events in Harram, the first game’s location, were only the beginning.

The message reads:

Survivor,
Remember Harran? Who could forget...
But The City is our refuge now, and it needs your help.
There’s so much for you to know, and so little time, but these clues can’t fall into the wrong hands.
Find somewhere safe and play this message. You’re our last chance for survival.
Above all...
Stay Human

Shining the UV torch on everything I owned first as I am quite keen on cleanliness, I then searched high and low on the letter and poster. A secret message revealed itself …. Something big is happening on Twitch on the 27th of May 9 pm CST.

What is happening? More gameplay footage? Is this a surprise reveal of a release date? Or will the game come out there and then? Who knows, but this is an amazing surprise and worthwhile to check-in.

Dying Light 2 is one of the most anticipated games in recent memory, next to the likes of Cyberpunk and The Witcher 3. The undead, parkour adventure game Dying Light came out back in 2015 and had a lot of praise for its world, gameplay, and making zombies scary again. Something, Capcom needs to do again too! But lacked some refinements in its story.

However, Dying Light 2 is taking things further than we could have expected. The gameplay and story have been completely revamped to deliver a dynamic and engaging open-world game with zombies.

I say it like this because Dying Light 2 is more a game about survival and factions working together or against each other to live another day. The zombies are a background note, but one which is even more deadly and terrifying than before. The actions you perform in the world will have devastating consequences and not only do you have to care for yourself, but other people as well.

It feels like what Days Gone tried to do, but Techland is going beyond much further than anything done in that game.
We’re extremely excited to see more from Techland and Dying Light 2 and now that what they have in store for us, will be amazing.
