ELEVEN SPORTS Portugal has launched a new FIFA tournament in support of UNICEF, with a star-studded line-up of Portuguese footballers and entertainers set to take part.

Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Diogo Jota and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Andre Silva will battle it out alongside a host of Portuguese TV personalities and comedians for the Play at Home Cup.

Games will be shared with fans across ELEVEN SPORTS Portugal’s linear and OTT platforms as well as on social media.

Starting on Friday 1st May, the tournament will run for three days and will be dedicated to raising funds for UNICEF Portugal’s efforts to distribute PPE throughout the country.

Nuno Filipe Miranda, Director of Marketing and Communications, ELEVEN SPORTS Portugal, said: “During this difficult period, ELEVEN SPORTS has strived to bring the best sports content to our fans. In the absence of traditional live sports, we have worked to create a range of eSports formats to continue to offer our fans some LIVE action. Our latest FIFA format is committed to raising as much as we possibly can for to help UNICEF’s vital work in Portugal.”

This tournament follows on from a series of motorsports e-events organised by ELEVEN SPORTS Portugal. The Virtual Race of Portugal in March put pro drivers up against motorsports fans and ELEVEN is currently running a new e-Racing Series, which is open to all motorsports fans to enter. Across the ELEVEN group, the eSports package also includes the Digital Swiss 5 elite cycling series and a number of NBA2K and FIFA events.

ELEVEN SPORTS Portugal’s offering has been made free-to-all until the end of May, to give all Portuguese sports fans access to ELEVEN’s archive of content and eSports events while they are at home.
