Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. today announced several legendary players to be PES 2019 brand ambassadors. Denílson de Oliveira Araújo, Rai Souza Vieira de Oliveira, Diego Lugano, Argentinian striker Gabriel Batistuta and Frenchman Ludovic Giuly will join the ranks of elite players who have represented the PES franchise. On December 6, as part of the Data Pack 3.0 update to PES 2019, these Legend Players will be available to add to myClub teams.

“It’s an honor to have Konami recognise the many years I have given to football by giving fans a way to relive and bask in the magical moments I had on the pitch,” said Denílson. “The realism of PES allows all generations of football fans to experience what I have done best, and as a PES brand ambassador I am proud to support their efforts in embracing the power of football.”

During Denílson’s 16-year professional career, the wing master’s display of technical prowess, ball handling and tricky style of play have enamored fans during his time at São Paulo FC, Palmeiras and several other clubs abroad. Having earned 61 caps for Brazil, Denílson’s brilliant use of step overs and feints will be on full display in PES 2019.

Additionally, former South American player of the year and current São Paulo FC General Manager, Rai will bring his championship pedigree to PES 2019. Having won 10 major titles during his time as a player for São Paulo FC and Paris Saint-Germain, Rai’s heroic goal scoring has earned him the nickname “Terror do Morumbi,” and will be a force to be reckoned with for myClub teams.

“I am thrilled that my body of work as a footballer will be immortalised in PES,” said Rai. “Even after retirement it’s a good feeling to know that my presence on the pitch will be felt again.”

Renowned as one of the greatest players in football history, Argentinean legend Gabriel “Batigol” Batistuta will also be bringing his unprecedented striking ability to myClub. His punishing marksmanship have won over fans during his time at River Plate, Boca Juniors and Italy’s Fiorentina, and will be faithfully recreated in PES 2019.

“As a player, it was my priority to give fans the most exciting exhibition of football they have ever seen,” said Batistuta. “I hope that PES fans will stand by the same philosophy when they have me on the pitch and define what makes this sport the beautiful game.”

The powerful presence of São Paulo FC will further resonate in PES 2019 with the addition of Diego Lugano. During his tenure for the club, “El Dio5’” shutdown defense and fighting spirit have led his team to several domestic and international titles. The Uruguanian also spent time playing for Fenerbahçe S.K., eventually becoming captain of the Turkish club with his tenacious display in attack at center back.

“It hasn’t even been a year since retiring from football, so, for Konami to recognise me as a Legend is most humbling,” said Lugano. “The cultural impact of PES over the years is remarkable.

With 17 caps for France, Ludovic Giuly has impressed football fans while playing for some of Europe’s most elite clubs including FC Barcelona, Lyon, AS Roma, Paris Saint-Germain and of course AS Monaco. “There were many magical moments in my career and it’s wonderful to know that fans of PES can relive and bask in those moments in their own way,” said Giuly. The Frenchman’s speedy pace and crafty attacking will torture defenders on the pitch.

Now available on PlayStation®4, Xbox One™, and PC STEAM, PES 2019 is available in two physical editions, with a new global ambassador Philippe Coutinho on the front cover of the standard edition and David Beckham on a special edition which gives fans the opportunity to unlock myClub bonuses.
